Baden-Baden once was THE place to be in Europe in the 19th century. A playground of the rich and famous.

It was then known as ‘The Summer Capital of Europe’. And without a doubt, Baden-Baden was the most elegant and sophisticated city in Europe at that time. It is not surprising that Europe’s first luxury hotel was opened here in Baden-Baden. Curious to find out more? By the time you are done with this tour, you will be amazed by all the important things that happened here in Baden-Baden.

Guided tours are great – but they often don’t give you any flexibility on where to stop and what to see. Our self-guided audio tour of Baden-Baden allows you to choose the sights you want to see, skip the ones you find boring, go back to something missed. Or even pick up the tour on another day. It’s all up to you.

We tell you everything you need to know about the msot famous town in the Black Forest. This is not your typical city walk – instead, we try to keep our tour fun and entertaining and not overwhelm you with lots of historical data. We point out the not-to-be missed sights as well as some of backstreets only locals know about. Packed with lots of background info, local stories and recommendations on where to eat, shop and drink – you will get to know Baden-Baden as a local, not a tourist.

How much time do I need?

Our Baden-Baden Walking Tour is laied out as a 90 minute walking tour. Depending on how much time you spend at each stop the tour can be shorter – or longer.  For example, if you are planning on walking up to the castle for a photo stop add-on 20 minutes. If you stop at one of the beergardens or cafes add-on additional time. You are free to skip the stops you are not interested in. And spend as much time as you’d like at the sights you like. Have a coffee in between stops. Or even lunch – it is really up to you when you want this tour to end. The minimum time needed is 90 minutes. The maximum time can be a day. Or even two.
